What Should You Wear for Each Day of Navratri?

by Vipul Pande

Girls. One thing about Garba night? We are going to twirl.
Because it’s officially Falguni Pathak season.
So obviously, at this point, sitting still is simply not an option.
The dandiya sticks are coming out. The playlists are getting louder. Someone has already started practising their Garba steps in front of the mirror. Dupattas are flying around. Or getting caught in watches. And someone else is planning their outfits before they've even figured out who's coming along.
Priorities yaar.
Because Navratri isn't just nine nights of dancing. There's the morning pooja. The family gatherings. The festive lunches. The neighbourhood celebrations. And of course the Garba nights that always turn into “Bas, one last round!” approximately twelve times.
And the outfits? They deserve their own little jashn.
At Westside Navratri dressing is all about bringing the colour, the prints, the movement, and the full desi drama. Festive skirts. Colourful kurtas. Gorgeous dupattas. And jewellery that makes a little chan-chan every time you move.
And with nine days. Nine colours. And plenty of reasons to dress up. Let's get those looks sorted!

So... What Should I Wear For Navratri?

First things first. You do not need to wear a chaniya choli every single day.
Love a full traditional look? Go for it.
Prefer a kurta set for the morning pooja? And something more dramatic for Garba? Perfect.
A colourful skirt with a contemporary blouse? Stealing the show babe.
Have fun with your outfits! Bring out the bandhani. Play with mirror work. Experiment with contrasting dupattas. And wear those jhumkas you've been saving for an occasion.
Because if Navratri isn't the occasion, then when?

What Are The Nine Colours Of Navratri 2026?

If you're someone who loves dressing according to the day's colour? Here’s your little cheat sheet! Get ready to plan those outfits!

Day 1 — Sunday, 11 October: Orange

We're talking bright happy can't-miss-it orange!
A vibrant skirt with mirror work? Gorgeous. An orange kurta set for the pooja? Lovely. Add a contrasting dupatta and statement earrings if you're heading out later.
Basically, sunshine with a little extra tashan.

Day 2 — Monday, 12 October: White

White with colourful embroidery. Ivory with gold details. A white outfit with a bright bandhani dupatta. You get the idea.
Keep it elegant for the pooja. Then bring out the colourful bangles and jhumkas for the evening.
Simple? Yes. Boring? Bilkul nahi.

Day 3 — Tuesday, 13 October: Red

Now we're talking drama.
A red skirt. A red kurta with a statement dupatta. Gold jewellery. And a bindi.
You know like Alia Bhatt walking into a room and everyone turns around?
We're borrowing her energy.
Nakhre allowed.

Day 4 — Wednesday, 14 October: Royal Blue

Royal blue is giving rich dramatic and very ready for the evening.
A blue festive skirt with a contrasting pink blouse. Or a royal blue chaniya choli with silver mirror work.
Add statement earrings and let the outfit do its thing.

Day 5 — Thursday, 15 October: Yellow

Yellow is sunshine marigolds and all the happy festive feels.
A yellow kurta set works beautifully for a daytime gathering. A yellow skirt with colourful embroidery. Or a mirror-work blouse.
And if you add pink or green? Go right ahead.
Thoda tadka toh banta hai.

Day 6 — Friday, 16 October: Green

From soft pista to rich emerald green has plenty of personality!
A green kurta with a printed dupatta? Perfect for a relaxed festive gathering.
A deep green chaniya choli with gold details? Full evening-glam territory.
And if the mirror work catches the light while you're dancing?
Hayeee. Nazar na lage

Day 7 — Saturday, 17 October: Grey

Before you say grey isn't festive… Hear us out.
We're talking silver-grey. Shimmer. Metallic details. Mirror work.
Pair a grey skirt with a colourful blouse. Or go for a festive set with silver jewellery.
Once the lights come on, this look is going to have its own moment.

Day 8 — Sunday, 18 October: Purple

Purple is for the girls who like a little drama with their dandiya.
Think violet. Plum. Or deep purple. With mirror work. Colourful embroidery. Statement jewellery. Pair it with silver. Or go bold with pink.
And when you catch yourself in the mirror?
“Tumhara koi haq nahi banta ki tum itni khoobsurat lago.”
Exactly. Now go dance.

Day 9 — Monday, 19 October: Peacock Green

We're ending on a gorgeous note with peacock green.
Think rich green with blue undertones. Mirror-work details and a contrasting dupatta. Add chandbalis. Stack those bangles. And give the outfit a little extra love.
Nine days in, you've earned your grand finale.
One last Garba.
One last twirl.
And definitely one last Dholida.
Okay, maybe five.

How Do I Make My Navratri Outfits More Fun?

Mix things up!
Wear the same skirt with a different blouse. Switch your dupatta. Change your jewellery. Add a jacket.
Pair traditional pieces with contemporary silhouettes.
And please… Don't underestimate the power of a good pair of earrings.
Sometimes that's all the outfit needs.

At Westside Navratri dressing is bringing all the Colour, Sparkle, and full-on Garba energy to your wardrobe. From pooja mornings to late-night dandiya. Mix chaniya cholis, festive skirts, kurtas, dupattas and statement accessories to make every night feel like its own little celebration.

Plenty of pooja. Plenty of Garba.
And absolutely no chance we're sitting out when Falguni Pathak comes on.
